PGDM in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management is beginning to take the driver’s seat in PGDM courses because of its rising popularity. This is a two-year course which endeavors to prepare graduate students to enter healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Like other PGDM courses, this too is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Any graduate in any academic stream with at least 50% at graduation level can apply for the course after having taken one of the exams: CMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ XAT/ GPAT/ ICET/ Others. However, the graduates in healthcare field are preferred. The admission is primarily determined on the basis of the performance in the entrance exams and if necessary, Group Discussion and Personal Interview may follow.

In recent years, the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry has seen mammoth advancement and this led to the need for a stringent curriculum for PGDM in healthcare and pharmaceutical management. It is a perfect blend of business management with healthcare – insurance and hospitals and pharmaceutical management. The course also includes the study of life sciences management.

The ultimate goal of PGDM in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management is that it focuses on training, educating and imparting managerial skills to the pursuer of the course to enable them to become a proficient and capable working professional in healthcare sector. For this purpose, the students have to make a choice of specialization in the second year of the two-year course depending on their aptitude and interest. The students also have to mandatorily appear for a relevant internship after the end of the first year.

The students get work offers from every nook and cranny of the healthcare & pharmaceutical sector upon the end of the academic term.
